Top 10 Tips for Travel with Baby

1

Prepare a small travel bag filled with toys and things to amuse your baby whilst in transit. Take a variety of toys from their favourite comforter to a teether and a couple of rattles.

Always carry spares! Whether this is a few extra nappies, a spare change of clothing for your little one or a spare top for yourself, if you have any unforseeen delays when travelling, at least you know you have enough supplies to see you through.

3

Carry tissues and wet wipes with you. You can also purchase travel sizes bottles of disinfectant gel for use as a soap free way of being able to wash your hands when on the go.

4

Allow plenty of time for check-in if you are flying. Things always take longer with a buggy or small child in tow so don't get caught out around the airport and give yourself time.

Use a travel steriliser. If you need to sterilise your baby's bottles, use a travel steriliser to save on space. You can buy travel sterilisers from major supermarkets and can be put in the microwave.

Wherever possible, stick to your baby's usual routine including nap times and mealtimes to ensure once you get back or arrive at your destination, there is as little disruption as possible for your little one.

Keep some healthy snacks with you for any potential delays and to see you through until you find somewhere appropriate to go food shopping for your toddler or small child.

Take a basic first aid kit with you including any of your preferred toddler medication e.g. Calpol or Tylenol in case you arrive at your destination and find you're not familiar with the foreign brand names or are unsure in any way.

10

Enjoy! Your baby will only be as stressed as you are so make sure you're prepared and avoid any last minute issues to have nothing less than happy travels!
